Valley Fence Post & Rail
You can choose from several configurations of rail count. Environmentally friendly and offering improved safety over other fencing materials.
The rail fences are suitable for the front yard as well as the pasture and particularly suited for marking boundaries and accenting yards they all have a pleasant countryside look.
Rails:
The rails are 16 Ft. (15 Ft. 11.5 inches) long, 1 1/2 inch X 5 1/2 inches with ribbed cross section, pre notched on the ends.
Posts:
The posts are 5 inches square, length is 58 inches tall for 2 rail and 78 inches tall for 3 rail.
Caps:
The caps are 5 inch square over the top pyramid style.
Thickness:
Post thickness is .135 on the 5 inch square posts and .080 on the ribbed rails, some contractors are calling this heavy rail when in fact it is the medium quality.
Heavy rail is actually .160 on the posts and .100 on the rails like on the vinyl privacy fence and is substantially more money, so be careful of paying more for less.
Rail spacing:
Spacing between rails is 10 1/2 inches air space in between rails and 2 inches at the top.

ALLOWING FOR EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION:
Routed posts with either notched rails or rail locks when properly installed provide for an expansion gap between the ends of the rails.
This gap allows space for the rails to expand and contract.
Due to their many advantages, vinyl building products have gained wide acceptance. However, vinyl products experience greater expansion and contraction from temperature changes than wood and metal.
A 100 degree temperature change will cause a 16 Ft. PVC fence rail to expand or contract approximately 5/8 inch.
