Can I install your ornamental products myself?

Generally, our ornamental products are shipped unassembled to save freight. The fencing contractor assembles the product, then installs the finished panels on your project. Each fencing contractor has the necessary equipment and experience to assemble and install the ornamental fencing to our specifications. While a consumer could do this, we strongly recommend that you rely on the expertise of a skilled fence installer.

Will your ornamental fencing meet local pool codes?

Are pointed pickets safe around children?

The classic look of a spear picket has been a traditional design for ornamental picket fencing. While we offer these styles, you should take care to ensure they are correctly installed and children are warned of the dangers that exist. To avoid injuries, we recommend that fences less than 6' tall not use these pickets.

What kind of warranty is available on your ornamental fencing?

Classic Premier, 12-Year Limited Warranty Echelon Plus, Limited Lifetime Warranty Monumental Iron Works, 15-Year Limited Warranty

There are quite a few ornamental fences, and they all tout their own types of picket attachment. What's the best method?

Our special ornamental fencing products each use a different method for attaching the pickets. Use of each particular method was engineered into the design and performance characteristics for the product. One thing they all have in common is that they are not welded. Welding steel burns off any protective coating, and subject the panel to red rust. Whether rivets, retaining rods, or self-tapping screws are used, you can be assured of a fastener that was designed to offer ornamental fencing with the durability and security you desire.

Is your aluminum fencing, Echelon Plus?, strong enough for use around my home?

Yes. It was designed to combine an attractive, durable appearance with virtually no maintenance for the residential homeowner. Special aluminum alloys were used to provide the strength needed to protect the safety and welfare of your family.

Should I be concerned about the gates for my ornamental fencing?

Definitely. Your gate is the only moving part of your fence, therefore, it's subject to the most abuse. We've designed each gate to withstand punishment from pedestrians, pets or vehicles. When installed with our specially designed gate hardware, each of our gates is engineered for years of virtually maintenance-free use, and warranted against defects in materials and workmanship.

My property isn't flat and slopes up and down. Will your ornamental fencing leave big gaps under each panel?

No. Grade changes are usually handled in one of two ways. One attractive option is to stair-step each panel. A second option is to rack or bias the panels, allowing the fence to follow the contour of the ground. Certain styles and systems are more capable of following ground contours, and should be considered for conditions with significant slope.

Wash and Wax

To keep your iron fence looking new, give it a good washing with warm soapy water between seasons. Follow up with a wax and then oil the fence's joint, springs, latches, etc. with mineral oil. Steel wool can be used to sand away light scratches, while specially formulated paint will cover small holes. While painting, let each layer dry between one another. Otherwise you'll risk dripping (while wet) and flaking (while dry).

If you're not careful to quickly nip those little scratches or spots of rust in the bud, they'll increase in size and form noticeable holes before you know it - holes that will require even more maintenance than what's described above
